What changes in each version of the game, newest first. The game is still in pre-release, so versions start at 0. The start page shows the version you are playing, under the title.
0.25.7
The event's missions now reward an event pack.
Changed
Every mission done: finishing all of the week's missions in Total Eclipse now gives an Eclipse Pack instead of a pick of three cards. It holds one of the event's cards, and that card can be the event's star. Its card always walks out when you open it. The pack waits in MY PACKS.
0.25.6
Clean sound, and a faster game at high speeds.
Fixed
The sound crackled in many places, even in the opening movie, whenever the game was busy. The sound now plays on its own in the browser, so a busy moment no longer cuts it, and the music keeps its beat.
Game speeds above 100% run faster than before, since the sound no longer interrupts the game.
0.25.5
Reloading the page no longer slows the game down.
Fixed
Each time the game was reloaded in the same tab (a refresh or an update), the old game stayed in the browser's memory, about 3 GB each time, and the game got slower and slower. The same happened after every online duel. Now the old game is let go, and a refresh is as good as a new tab.
0.25.4
Fairer elite duels and equip cards that say what they fit.
Changed
Elite duelists: their decks no longer hold Dian Keto the Cure Master, and they carry one Negate Attack instead of two. Monsters take the free places.
Equip cards: each equip's text now says which monster types it powers up, as it works since the equips were reworked, and the types where it powers up some of the monsters too (for example, Follow Wind: Dragons and Winged Beasts, and some Sea Serpents, Fairies and Fiends).
0.25.3
A frame rate counter, quicker messages and smoother updates.
New
Show FPS: View > Show FPS (or F3) shows the frame rate in the top right corner.
Changed
A message that answers something you pressed (a mode that isn't open yet, no free save slot and so on) now closes at once. Only messages that come by themselves wait 3 seconds.
Fixed
Updating the game could stop at the browser's "Leave site?" box, with the sound looping under it. The page now reloads straight away, and your progress comes along.
0.25.2
No more crackling sound while you read a screen's info.
Fixed
The sound crackled while a screen's info (SELECT) was open, and over a screen when a message asked you to choose. The game was drawing the whole screen again on every frame for nothing.
0.25.1
A simpler start page for FM Reborn, and only the original disc plays.
Changed
Start page: it now says FM Reborn, and there is no game to pick: Play starts FM Reborn. The old Classic choice and the box for adding your own card pictures are gone.
Original disc only: a disc image whose game files were changed (a hacked or modded copy) no longer starts. Any good copy of the USA disc (SLUS-01411) plays as before.
0.25.0
Two competitions open in the ARENA: Battle City every weekend and Duelist Kingdom during the week, each with ranks and rewards. SELECT now tells you how every screen works, and the game has a new home: fm-reborn.com.
New
Battle City: a new ARENA tab (L1 and R1). From Friday 18:00 to Monday 06:00 you get 20 duels against other players, live, with any deck. Losing doesn't end your run, so win as many as you can. The more you win, the higher your rank and the better its reward. Square ends your run early.
Duelist Kingdom: the ARENA's third tab, from Monday 08:00 to Friday 08:00. Play 20 duels against other players' decks, played by the computer. Opponents come four at a time: one easy, two medium and one hard. Each win gives points by its rank, from 20 for a D to 110 for an S, and more against a stronger deck. Your points give you a rank and its reward, and the week's best five get a bonus on top.
Ranks: both share one ladder of ranks, from Villager up to Pharaoh. Rewards are packs and starchips, all tradeable on the MARKET. They arrive in MY PACKS when your run ends or the week closes. Among them is a new pack you can only win here, the Ultimate Pack.
Info on every screen: press SELECT in the ARENA, PACKS, MARKET, EVENT, SHADOW REALM, RIVALS, GAUNTLET, ALTAR or FUSIONS to read what it is and how it works. The EVENT's last page describes the event that is on right now.
Changed
New address: the game now lives at fm-reborn.com, on a server of its own. Your account and saves came along.
Messages: a message from the game with a single OK can't be pressed away during its first 3 seconds, so it gets read. Its arrow appears once it can be closed.
MARKET: SELECT now shows the market's info. The search by name is in the filters (Triangle).
0.24.1
Opponents no longer play Swords of Revealing Light, and the event's missions fit their screen.
Changed
Swords of Revealing Light: no opponent plays it any more, the elites included. Once the AI played it, an A or S rank was out of reach. You can still get it from packs.
Fixed
In the EVENT's missions, a pack's name ran into the mission's words.
0.24.0
The ARENA is open: find another player and duel them online, with your wins and losses counted. Online duels work again, and more of the strongest cards now get the walkout.
New
ARENA: ONLINE on the title menu now opens the ARENA. It lists everyone looking for a duel right now, with their wins and losses. Challenge a player with Cross, or answer a challenge with Accept or Decline. Triangle looks for a quick match: you duel whoever looks for one next. Choose the deck you bring with Left and Right.
Wins and losses: ARENA duels are casual, so nothing is won or lost but your record. Both games tell the server who won, and it counts when they agree. Leaving a duel or closing the page in the middle of it counts as a loss.
Room code: the room window with a code is still there, on Square in the ARENA, for a duel with a friend.
Changed
Walkout: monsters of 2800 ATK or more now open with the walkout (it was 3000), and Bright Castle joins the magic cards that get one.
Fixed
Since 0.20.0 every online duel stopped soon after it began with "The two games went out of step". Online duels play to the end again.
0.23.0
Opening a pack looks and feels better, the walkout builds more suspense, and event cards open in their event's own colours.
New
Walkout for magic cards: the rarest magic cards now get the walkout too. Their clues are the card's kind and what it aims at.
Event colours: an event card opens in its event's own colours, and so does its big reveal. Total Eclipse's are white-gold light with a purple glow.
Changed
Opening a pack: the pack rises in with a light under it and a glow behind it in its rarity's colour, floating while you wait. Every shake pulses the light, and the tear hits harder: the pack swells, the opening flashes and sparks fly out of the torn edge.
Walkout: gold sparks rise through the dark. Each clue lands with a beat of light and stays in a row at the bottom, so you can see the card take shape. The clues are slower, and the stars are counted one at a time with a tick each. Then comes a short pause in the dark before the card.
Big reveal: the flash as the card turns over is now a burst of light around the card instead of the whole screen turning grey.
Fixed
Right before a walkout's card came, the screen behind could flash for a moment.
An event card from a pack that promises a finish could turn over showing a different finish from the one it really has.
0.22.0
Updates load by themselves at a safe moment, and your progress is kept on your device whenever the server can't be reached.
New
Updates: when a new version is out, the game tells you once you are at the title or in a card shop, never in a duel or in the middle of the story. Your game is saved first, and the new version loads in a moment, right where you were.
Server unreachable: if the server can't be reached, the game tells you, and your progress is kept on this device until it's back. You can keep playing; the MARKET and online duels wait until then. Even if you close the page, your progress goes to the server the next time you play.
Messages from the server: news such as a restart coming up now shows up in the game.
Changed
MARKET: a card can only be put on sale if your saved game holds it. If it doesn't yet, keep playing for a moment and try again: the card stays in your chest.
The server now looks over saves for progress no game could make. An account with such a save may find the MARKET closed until it has been looked at.
0.21.1
Magic cards no longer fuse into sealed ritual cards.
Fixed
Some pairs of magic cards used to fuse into a ritual card. Now that rituals are sealed, that spent two cards on nothing, so these pairs no longer fuse. FUSIONS no longer lists them.
0.21.0
Rituals have left the game for now. Ritual cards you own are sealed, and their owners get a Mega Pack as compensation.
Changed
Rituals sealed: no ritual can be played for now. They will come back later in an event of their own. No pack, duel or opponent's deck has ritual cards any more.
Ritual cards you already own stay in your chest, sealed. They can't be played or put in a deck, so take any out of yours in Build Deck. You can still offer them at the ALTAR.
Several monsters that only a ritual could summon are now ordinary cards, found like any other.
Compensation: a save that holds a ritual card gets one free Mega Pack, once, waiting in PACKS, with a message as it loads. A ritual card you have on sale in the MARKET counts too: then the pack comes the first time you open the MARKET.
The Ancient Rites pack is no longer sold. Its cards are now in the other theme packs. An Ancient Rites pack you already hold still opens in My Packs.
The Gilded Pack and some ALTAR challenges have new art.
0.20.1
Opening a pack now shows the card's page like Build Deck, and its texts fit in the game's font.
Changed
Opening a pack:△ now opens the card's page in the game's own card viewer, as in Build Deck, with its type, guardian stars and description. ○ goes back to the same card. It works while the cards turn over and on the list at the end.
The pack's list no longer writes the rarity next to each card. The name's colour shows it, and the full rarity is still under the big card. Long names now fit in the game's font, even next to a finish.
Under the big card, the type and the ATK/DEF go on two lines, so they stay in the game's font.
Finish names (Starlight, Gold and so on) are now written in the game's font, in their colours.
0.20.0
Every screen and message now looks like the game itself, new games start with two free packs, and the card shop has PACKS.
New
Welcome packs: a new game gets 2 free packs of your choice from the Themes tab. They show as FREE in Themes and in My Packs, and their cards are untradeable. A message tells you about them the first time you reach the map or a card shop.
PACKS in the card shop: the card shop's menu now has PACKS at the top. Open your packs there and you come back to the same shop, no need to return to the title.
Changed
The game's look everywhere: PACKS, MARKET, RIVALS, GAUNTLET, EVENT, SHADOW REALM, ALTAR and FUSIONS now use the game's own font, the dark background of its stone text boxes, its yellow selection bar and stone-coloured edges. Long lines that don't fit in the game's font switch to the smaller one instead of being cut.
Messages: messages such as "No free save slot" or a locked mode now appear in the game's stone text box with its font. A message with a single answer shows the game's blinking arrow instead of an OK button. Press Cross or click it. Messages with choices use the yellow selection bar.
Keyboard: the keys bound to Cross and Circle now answer messages too. Before, only Enter and a click did.
FUSIONS: the grid has 4 columns instead of 5, so every type's name fits, and long card names go over two lines.
RIVALS: an elite's first-win pack is on a line of its own.
0.19.1
A cheaper ALTAR exchange.
Changed
ALTAR: the Super Rares exchange now takes 20 Super Rares for a Millennium Pack instead of 40.
0.19.0
Packs now open with a show that hints at what's inside, a new My Packs tab, and everything the ALTAR gives now comes as a pack.
New
Opening a pack: the pack comes up and tears open before its cards turn over, and on the way it hints at its best card. If it shakes, there's a Super Rare inside. If a light runs around its edge, there's an Ultra Rare. If the screen goes dark and gold rays appear, a monster of 3000 ATK or more is waiting, and you get clues about it before it turns over.
My Packs: a new first tab in PACKS with every pack you've been given (from the ALTAR, medals and so on), and how many you have to open. The other tabs now only sell packs.
Every card the ALTAR gives now comes as a pack you open in My Packs. The theme exchanges give a pack of that theme. The Gilded Offering gives the new Gilded Pack.
Pick packs: the Ultra Rare trade-in and the Courts now give a pack of three cards. You turn them over side by side, big, and keep one. If you leave before choosing, the same three wait for you.
The Great Offering's card now turns over with the big reveal.
Changed
Pack openings and the big reveal draw less, so they run smoother, especially on high refresh rate screens.
0.18.2
Elites and the event boss now play with the smarter AI, plus a fix for the ONLINE window.
Changed
The elite rivals and the event boss now use the same smarter AI as every other opponent. Until now they used the original game's AI, so they could leave walls in attack position and attack with them. Expect them to play better and be harder.
Fixed
Circle now closes the ONLINE window. Before, it went back to the title menu under the window.
A quick tap of Enter on the title menus is no longer missed. Enter now opens LOAD too.
0.18.1
Theme pack fixes, new pack covers, and a few ALTAR fixes.
Changed
Every theme pack now has at least two Super Rares from the start. Four of them had only one until Seto was beaten.
Arcane Arsenal's exchange now takes 5 commons for a rare instead of 10, since the pack has few commons.
Great Offering: the three Ultra Rares can no longer be cards of the event's own set.
New pack covers: Mega Pack shows Blue-eyes White Dragon, Insect Swarm shows Jirai Gumo, Ancient Rites shows Dark Magic Ritual, and Wild Hunt now shows Nekogal's face.
On the keyboard, Enter chooses on the title menus again. The controller's START still doesn't.
Fixed
ALTAR: with a large collection, a slot's list could miss cards, including all of your deck's.
ALTAR: holding Right Shift while typing a search no longer closes it.
Pack pictures now update when you turn HD textures or mods on or off.
0.18.0
The ALTAR is tidier and easier to fill: grouped challenges, every card in a slot's list, sorting and search, and cards from your deck.
Added
ALTAR groups: each set's challenges (the set, its Court and its Masterwork) and each theme's two exchanges now share one tile. Open it to see its challenges, and press Circle to go back.
Cards from your deck: a slot's list now includes the cards in your deck, marked IN YOUR DECK. If you put one in, a notice tells you so. If you offer it, it leaves your deck, and you fill its place in Build Deck. You also get a notice if a card is needed by one of your saved deck slots.
Sort and search in a slot's list: Square changes the order (cheapest first, by ATK or by name), and SELECT searches by name, using the on-screen letters or your keyboard.
Changed
Cross on a slot now lists every card that fits: first the copies you have more than three of, then your other copies (marked with how many you keep), then your deck's. Square now only changes what the automatic fill may take, so it no longer replaces the cards you already chose.
Fixed
The selected menu button was partly hidden behind its neighbours (for example PACKS and MARKET).
The green letters of the selected added buttons glow evenly again.
Notices shown over the PACKS, ALTAR and other screens were hidden behind them.
0.17.0
Packs now look like real booster packs, and every ALTAR challenge has its own card.
Changed
Packs now look like booster packs, in the style of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force. Each pack has its own colour and card art, with its name at the top and the game's logo at the bottom. PACKS shows them side by side like a shop shelf. The ALTAR and the EVENT show the new packs too.
The Millennium Pack now shows Millennium Golem.
ALTAR: each challenge now shows its own card instead of the same few covers. What it gives appears as small packs in the corner, and a label at the top says what it asks for. Courts have a silver frame, Masterworks and the Gilded Offering a gold one, and the event's challenges an orange one.
0.16.0
The ATELIER is gone, and the ALTAR has a new weekly challenge that gives a card in a rare finish.
Added
Gilded Offering (ALTAR, Challenges): offer 3 Ultra Rares and 5 Super Rares, all different, for a Super Rare or Ultra Rare from the Millennium Pack in Starlight or a rarer finish. You can do it once a week. The card can't be sold, and it is revealed with the big reveal.
Removed
ATELIER is no longer in MORE. Finishes should feel special, not something you can craft. Cards you already made there stay in your save.
0.15.1
The menu buttons look more like the original game, and START no longer starts a new game by accident.
Changed
The letters on the added menu buttons (MORE, PACKS, MARKET, ONLINE, RIVALS, GAUNTLET, EVENT, ATELIER, ALTAR, FUSIONS) now sit on one line and are evenly spaced, like the original buttons.
SHADOW REALM's button now uses the game's own letters, like the other buttons.
Fixed
Pressing START on the title menus no longer chooses anything. Pressing START during the intro could start a NEW GAME by accident. Use Cross to choose.
0.15.0
Total Eclipse has two new Zombie cards, and three of its cards have new effects.
Added
Great Mammoth of Goldfine (Total Eclipse, Super Rare): at the end of your turn, if this card is face-up on the field, your opponent loses 500 LP and you gain 500 LP. While you have more LP than your opponent, it gains 500 ATK and DEF.
Armored Zombie (Total Eclipse, Common): when this card is destroyed by battle, the monster that destroyed it loses 800 ATK and DEF permanently.
Changed
King of Yamimakai (Total Eclipse): when summoned, the field becomes Yami. On Yami, your other Fiends and Zombies gain 300 ATK while it is face-up on the field, and the first time it would be destroyed in battle, it survives. It no longer gains an extra 500 ATK and DEF from Yami.
Reaper of the Cards (Total Eclipse): when flipped face-up, it now destroys 1 set spell or trap card. If it destroys a card, it gains 1000 ATK and DEF for the rest of the duel (once). It no longer gains 500 DEF on its first flip.
Archfiend Soldier (Total Eclipse): now gains 1500 ATK (instead of 1000) during the turn it is summoned. After it attacks, it switches to defense position.
Cards you already own get the new effects automatically.
0.14.1
The Eclipse finish has a new totality.
Changed
Eclipse finish: when the moon covers the sun, the corona now lights the monster from behind: its outline glows white and blue while the rest of the picture goes dark. The whole card joins in: the frame sinks into the night, the card's edge and its boxes catch the light, and long streamers of the corona cross the card. All of it happens only on the side of the card that is in the shadow.
0.14.0
Hidden fusion types now work for every card, the search finds them, opponents keep their walls in defense, and new card badges.
Changed
Hidden fusion types: some monsters fuse as a second type, as in the original game. For example, Crawling Dragon #2 fuses as a Dragon, and Flame Swordsman fuses as a Pyro. These cards now follow the fusion rules of their hidden type with every card, including the new Remastered cards. For example, Crawling Dragon #2 + Zaborg the Thunder Monarch now makes Twin-headed Thunder Dragon.
More Pyros found: Flame Swordsman, Garoozis, Mavelus, Fire Kraken, Flame Ghost, Darkfire Dragon, Tyhone #2, Yamadron and Metal Dragon also fuse as Pyros. The card viewer (△) and FUSIONS now show it next to their type.
Search: in Build Deck and the MARKET, searching a type also finds the cards that fuse as that type. For example, "pyro" also finds Dissolverock and Flame Swordsman.
Opponent AI: a monster whose DEF is much higher than its ATK (for example 600 ATK / 2600 DEF) is now always put in defense. It only attacks when that attack wins the duel.
First owner badge: now a gold medal with a "1" on red ribbons, easy to read at every size.
Untradeable padlock in Build Deck: redrawn so it clearly looks like a padlock in the card list.
0.13.0
New ALTAR challenges for every monster type, an Ultra Rare trade-in, and a symbol that shows whether a reward or pack is tradeable.
Added
ALTAR Courts: each type group in the Challenges tab now has a Court. Offer the group's key card, 2 other Ultra Rares and 2 Super Rares of its types for a Mega Pack and a pick of 3 Ultra Rares of those types. Once per save.
ALTAR Masterworks: each type group also has a Masterwork. Offer the key card in Gold or a rarer finish and 3 other Ultra Rares of its types, one of them 2800 ATK or more, for a Mega Pack and a Millennium Pack whose cards are tradeable. Once per week.
Ultra Rare trade-in: in the Exchanges tab, offer 5 different Ultra Rares to choose 1 of 3 Ultra Rares from the Millennium Pack. As often as you like. The card you keep is untradeable. It replaces Legends' gamble.
Tradeable symbol: every pack and reward now shows whether its cards can be sold on the market. A padlock means untradeable, two green arrows mean tradeable. You can see it in PACKS, the ALTAR, RIVALS, the EVENT and the SHADOW REALM.
Changed
Super tithe (ALTAR, Daily): now takes 5 different Super Rares instead of 3.
Dark Magician is now an Ultra Rare.
Exodia the Forbidden (the head) is now an Ultra Rare, like the four limbs.
Reward texts are shorter: they no longer say "free" or "its cards untradeable", since the symbol shows it.
Fixed
RIVALS and the EVENT no longer write "Premium Pack pack".
0.12.0
Elite duelists are much harder, and beating one for the first time gives a free pack.
Added
First win against an elite: the first time you beat an elite, you get a free pack, once per save. Early and middle elites give a Premium Pack, the last elites (from Seto 2nd on) give a Mega Pack. The pack is untradeable, like the medals' packs. The results screen tells you when you get it, and RIVALS shows each elite's first-win pack and whether you already got it.
Changed
Elite duelists: every elite now plays a fixed deck built for it, and the difficulty goes up in three steps: early, middle and late elites. Even the first elites, like Elite Simon Muran, are a real challenge for an endgame deck.
Elite decks have tricks: traps that stop attacks, walls, life point recovery and burn, so getting an S or A rank is much harder than before. The later elites also have stronger spells.
Elite life points: every elite starts with 10000 LP.
Ultra Rares from duels: elites give Ultra Rares less often than before. Harder elites give them more often than easier ones. Story opponents also give Ultra Rares about half as often as before.
0.11.1
Lower Ultra Rare pull rates in packs, and the pack page now shows the chances for a whole pack.
Changed
Millennium Pack: the Ultra Rare pull rate is much lower. The pity has not changed: you still get a guaranteed Ultra Rare after 30 packs without one.
Premium Pack: 3 of its 7 cards are now guaranteed Rare or better. It no longer has a guaranteed card of 2200 ATK or more. Ultra Rares are much rarer than before.
Mega Pack: 5 of its 10 cards are now guaranteed Rare or better. It no longer has a guaranteed card of 2200 ATK or more. Ultra Rares are much rarer than before.
The guaranteed Rare-or-better cards can also be spells, traps and equips.
The pack page now shows, for each rarity, the chance of getting at least one card of that rarity in a whole pack. Before, it showed the chance for a single card.
0.11.0
A new card reveal after duels, a new card selection screen that shows finishes, a card viewer on more screens, and better performance.
Added
Card selection after a win: press △ to open the selected card in the card viewer. Press ○ to go back.
After opening a pack: once all cards are revealed, use ↑↓ to go through them and △ to read a card's description.
Deck slots: you can now load a saved deck even if a card in it is missing from your trunk. The game tells you which card is missing, leaves that spot empty, and opens Build Deck so you can replace it.
Changed
Card reveal after a win: the cards are revealed one at a time on the results screen, using the game's own card. Each card appears face down and flips like a card played in a duel. The card's name is shown only after it flips. When you move to the next card, the current card flips face down first, so there is no blank frame between cards.
Card selection screen (after a win, the event's mission reward and the ALTAR's reward): the selected card is shown large on the left, with its finish animated. All the cards are shown in a grid on the right. Use the D-pad to move through the grid. With the mouse, click a card to select it and click it again to keep it.
Fixed
Frame rate (FPS) drops on the card selection screen, during the Ultra Rare reveal animation, and on full-screen menus (PACKS, MARKET, ALTAR and others).
The reveal animation of an event card in the event's mission reward did not show the card.
0.10.0
A new card economy: one main pack with every card, theme packs, the ALTAR, choosing your reward after each win, tradeable and untradeable cards, a reworked Total Eclipse event with effect cards, and the new Shadow Realm mode.
Added
Millennium Pack: one pack with every card in the game, always on sale. It has a pity system: if you go too many packs without an Ultra Rare, the next one is guaranteed. The pack page shows how many packs are left until the pity.
Theme packs: cheap packs, one for each card theme. More cards are added to a theme pack as you progress through the story.
Medal packs: RIVALS medals now also give a pack. Bronze gives a Millennium Pack, Silver a Premium Pack (7 cards) and Gold a Mega Pack (10 cards).
Tradeable and untradeable cards: cards from packs you buy are tradeable and can be sold on the MARKET. Cards from duel rewards, medal packs and event rewards are untradeable and show a padlock. A card you were the first owner of shows a seal; a card bought on the MARKET does not. All the cards you had before this update are tradeable.
ALTAR (in MORE): trade in sets of cards for rewards. It has repeatable Exchanges, Challenges, the event's Offerings, and three new Daily challenges every day. It fills each set automatically with your spare cards, and you can swap any of them.
Choose your reward: after a win, the cards are revealed one at a time and you keep one of them (two with an S rank).
Ultra Rare reveal: an Ultra Rare or an event card moves to the center of the screen, charges up and shakes, then flips.
SHADOW REALM (in MORE): a run of duels in a row with your own deck, under the event's deck rule. Your LP carry over between duels, and one loss ends the run. After each win, choose a boon, a card of the event's theme for your deck during this run, or rest to recover LP. Opponents get stronger with each floor and give no cards, but every 3 wins in a row give a pack (each one once a week). Unlocks after beating the five High Mages, while an event is running.
Monster effects: a card flashes and plays a sound when its effect activates. Cards set face down show nothing, so they are not revealed.
HD card art in menus (PACKS, FUSIONS, ALTAR, MARKET), when the server provides it. Duels keep the original card art.
Total Eclipse
The event now lasts two weeks.
Deck rules: Heishin of the Eclipse only accepts decks that follow the event's deck rules. The event screen shows which rules your deck meets.
Weekly missions: six missions every week, each with a small reward, plus the Secret Fusion of the Week, shown as a silhouette until you make it.
Daily win rewards: wins against Heishin of the Eclipse give a Millennium Pack at 3 wins, a Premium Pack at 6 and a Mega Pack at 10, every day.
Event cards: six Dark Legion monsters with effects, an orange frame and always the Eclipse finish. Complete all the missions of a week to pick one, or find them during the event. The ALTAR's Event tab has the Small, Middle and Great Offering.
A duel against Heishin of the Eclipse now costs 5 starchips.
The event pack has been removed.
Changed
PACKS: a new storefront with a tile for each pack. Select a pack to see its page: its cards by rarity, which ones you own, and your last opened pack. Opening a pack still uses the big card.
FUSIONS: a new screen of tiles. Select a fusion line to see all its cards in order, from the first to the strongest.
MARKET: now a full-screen table, with a panel for the selected card showing its recent prices, the lowest price on sale and how many copies you own. Sellers' names are no longer shown.
The series packs and the Gold packs have been removed. A free series pack you had is now a free pack of the same theme.
Extra copies are no longer converted to starchips: you keep every copy of a card.
Card finishes can now appear on cards of any rarity, from Common to Ultra Rare, but they are much rarer. The Eclipse finish is only available through the event.
TRADE has been removed from the title menu. Cards are now traded on the MARKET.
0.9.3
The fusion book now opens on the fusion lines and is easier to read.
Added
Lines (the first tab of the fusion book): every fusion line, the two types (or the card and the type) that start it, and its cards from the first to the strongest. Fuse two cards of the line's types to make its first card, then fuse that with one more to make the next.
Changed
A fusion that only some cards of a type pair can make is now listed under that pair and marked "some", instead of under headings like "17 Dragons + 28 Warriors" or "one of 18". Select it to see which of your cards make it.
Each type pair has one heading, and each card is listed once under it.
Fusions that need one specific card are shown once you own one of their materials or the card they make.
Fixed
The book listed a card under Dragon + Zombie that those two types cannot make.
0.9.2
Extra fusion types are now shown as icons.
Changed
The extra types a monster fuses as are now shown in brackets after its type as icons (the game's own type icons, and ♀ for female monsters), instead of words. They take less space, so more of them fit in the card's window. The fusion book shows them the same way, with each group's icon next to its name.
0.9.1
The fusion book shows the fusion rules, and a card's type shows what else it fuses as.
Changed
The fusion book (FUSIONS in MORE) now shows the fusion rules in three tabs: type pairs, card groups, and fusions that need one specific card. All type pairs are shown from the start. What each one makes stays hidden (???) until you make it or own that card.
A card used as a fusion material is named in the book once you have owned it, so every new card tells you something about what it fuses with.
Some monsters also fuse as another type, or as part of a group. Their type now shows this in brackets, also in the card's window. This only counts for fusions: fields and equips still use the card's own type.
Removed
Opponents no longer give a hint about a type pair after you beat them, since the fusion book now shows every pair.
0.9.0
A fusion book to complete, a fusion hint in duels, and a type summary in Build Deck.
Added
FUSIONS (last in MORE): a book of every card a fusion can make, including spells, traps, equips and rituals. Each one is hidden (???) until you make it in a duel. Then it shows its name, its picture and the cards you used. A fusion line's two types are shown once you discover them, from your own fusion or a hint from an opponent. Fusions you made before this version are already in the book.
Fusion hint in duels: the mark on the card your best fusion starts from now also shows the type of the card it combines with. Which card of that type, and the result, is still yours to find.
Deck summary in Build Deck: under the list, how many cards of each type your deck has (most first), then its spells, traps, equips and rituals. It updates as you add or remove cards. You can turn it off in View > Deck summary.
0.8.1
The first opponents no longer make the strongest monster of a fusion line.
Changed
Opponents in the first chapter of the story now fuse only up to the middle of a fusion line, so you no longer face 2750 or 2800 ATK monsters in the first duels.
Seto, the last opponent of that chapter, has the same limit but some extra cards, so he is still a bit harder than the duelists before him.
0.8.0
Every monster type now has its own field and three equips, and story difficulty rises more smoothly.
Changed
Every monster type now has a field that boosts it, and fields no longer weaken any type. Mountain also boosts Fairies and Pyros, Wasteland boosts Reptiles and Machines, and Yami boosts Zombies. Umi no longer weakens Machines and Pyros, and Yami no longer weakens Fairies. Field cards, and ritual monsters that bring a field, list the types they boost.
Every monster type now has three equips that work on all of its monsters. For example, Blue-eyes White Dragon can now use Follow Wind and Beast Fangs as well as Dragon Treasure. No equip lost a monster it worked on before.
Some opponents were easier or harder than their place in the story. Several are now stronger and one is slightly weaker, so each duel's difficulty matches the duels around it.
0.7.4
Opponents drop strong cards less often, so packs stay worth buying.
Changed
Opponent drops are now capped at the strength of the Super Rares in the packs available at that point of the story. Stronger cards still drop, but rarely, and only with an S or A rank.
An opponent's signature cards, when they are stronger than the rest of its drops, also drop rarely and only with an S or A rank.
A B, C or D rank now only drops weaker cards, as intended.
0.7.3
A save indicator, and a game over no longer removes opponents you unlocked.
Added
Save indicator: when the game saves, a small icon appears at the bottom right: a memory card with Saving while the save is being sent to your account, then a tick with Saved when it is stored.
Fixed
Campaign: an opponent you beat now stays unlocked in Free Duel even if you lose a later duel before reaching a card shop. Before, the game over removed the unlock, although the win still counted for that opponent's medals. The story still continues from the last card shop, and the final run of duels at the end of the campaign must still be won in one go.
0.7.2
Villager 3 can now be dueled after Seto.
Changed
Campaign: if you did not beat Villager 3 before the festival, he now challenges you at the Duel Ground after you beat Seto, so you can still unlock him in Free Duel. Before, he only talked to you at that point and was missing from Free Duel for the rest of the game.
0.7.1
New unlock points for the pack series, and a MARKET fix for accounts with several saves.
Changed
Series III now unlocks when you beat Kaiba, and Series IV when you have beaten all five High Mages. Series II still unlocks with Seto, and Series V with Nitemare.
A Silver medal's free pack is now from the highest series you have unlocked, up to the opponent's own series, so you can always open it right away.
Fixed
MARKET: with more than one save on an account, MY SALES also showed the cards listed by your other saves. Each save now only sees and manages its own listings, and has its own limit of 10. Cancelled or unsold cards always returned to the save that listed them, and still do.
0.7.0
A new progression: packs in five series, medals for every opponent, elite duels and 34 new cards.
Added
RIVALS
A new menu, first in MORE. Every opponent has three medals, earned by beating them with rank A or better: Bronze at 3 wins, Silver at 10 and Gold at 25. Wins in the campaign and in Free Duel both count.
Each medal gives a one-time reward: Bronze gives starchips, Silver a free pack, and Gold more starchips and unlocks the opponent's elite duel.
Your previous wins count too: medals you already earned are waiting in RIVALS, marked !, ready to claim.
When a win earns a medal, RESULTS OF DUEL shows its reward on its own page.
Free Duel's progress view shows your medal against the selected opponent and how many wins the next one needs.
□ claims the selected opponent's medals, △ claims all of them, ✕ starts the elite duel, ○ goes back.
Elite duels
An opponent's Gold medal unlocks their elite version: the same duelist with a stronger deck, more Life Points, usually a field that suits their cards, and more starchips for a win. Elite duels unlock after you beat the five High Mages. After each elite duel you return to RIVALS.
34 new cards
Strong monsters from later eras of the card game, up to 5D's, for the end game. Most of them are not Dragons, so other strategies have strong options too.
Changed
Packs in five series
PACKS now sells packs in five series, Series I to V, each in its own tab. Series I is available from the start, and each next series unlocks further into the story, with stronger cards.
A card's rarity can differ between series: a strong card that appears early is rarer than it will be later. It reveals with the effect and sound of its rarity in that pack.
Each card in a pack is now pulled separately. Only one card is guaranteed to be Rare or better (Super Rare or better in a Gold pack); the others can be any rarity, so a lucky pack can have more than one strong card.
The packs of a series share their pity counters for Super Rare and Ultra Rare: opening any of them counts.
Gold packs of a series unlock when you have a Silver medal against every opponent of that series. The Gold button next to the tabs switches the selected pack to its Gold version; a locked one shows which medals are missing.
A free pack shows FREE instead of its price until you open it.
The event pack has its own tab, Event, while it is on sale.
Starchips
Stronger opponents give more starchips for a win, and a better rank gives more. RESULTS OF DUEL shows the normal stars, then the bonus in yellow.
This is a first version: the costs and rewards of medals, elites and series may change.
0.6.3
The Tomb Fresco finish has been redrawn.
Changed
The Tomb Fresco finish has been improved. The torchlight moving over the dark tomb is unchanged.
The artwork now looks right on every card. A monster on a dark background is painted on its own over columns of hieroglyphs; any other artwork is painted as a whole, instead of breaking apart as Dark Hole's did.
Richer colours with two tones each, painted flat like a real wall painting. Dark artwork is now as bright as the rest.
A border of coloured blocks around the card, and fewer, thinner cracks.
Under the name, a monster's level is shown as gold stars on blue, like a tomb ceiling; other cards show a winged sun.
The card's name is written in hieroglyphs in the lower panel.
0.6.2
A cleaner second menu: GAUNTLET, EVENT and ATELIER move into MORE.
Changed
The second menu has a new MORE button after FREE DUEL. GAUNTLET, EVENT and ATELIER are now inside it.
○ goes back from MORE to the second menu, and after the GAUNTLET, EVENT or ATELIER you return to MORE.
0.6.1
Finishing the story no longer locks what you had unlocked.
Fixed
When the story restarts after the ending, the GAUNTLET, the EVENT and the packs you unlocked by beating opponents stay unlocked.
0.6.0
Weekly events: a new challenge every week.
Added
EVENT
Every week, from Monday to Sunday, there is an event: a special opponent with its own rules. The first event is Total Eclipse. Events unlock after you beat the five High Mages, like the GAUNTLET.
Each duel costs a 3-starchip ticket, win or lose.
The event has its own pack, sold only during its week.
Your first win each day gives one free event pack.
Win five times in a week for a bonus card from the event pack.
The Eclipse finish is now only available from events: on the event opponent's drops and in the event pack.
✕ starts a duel, □ opens the event pack, ○ goes back. After each duel you return to the event screen.
Weeks and days follow the server's clock, in Greek time: a new day starts at midnight in Greece.
This is a first version: costs and rewards may change.
Changed
The GAUNTLET's daily ladder now also follows the server's clock, in Greek time.
0.5.0
Two new modes to try: the GAUNTLET and the ATELIER.
Added
GAUNTLET
Ten duels in a row against opponents you have already beaten in the campaign, the strongest last. The ladder shows all of them with their portraits. It unlocks after you beat the five High Mages.
Your LP carry over between duels, and each win restores 1000 LP. One loss ends the run.
The ladder changes daily: the same opponents all day, new ones the next day.
Each duel gives its normal starchips and cards, and some floors give bonus starchips when cleared, once a day.
✕ starts a run or its next duel, △ gives up the run. After each duel you return to the ladder.
Leaving the page during a GAUNTLET duel counts as a loss.
ATELIER
Use starchips and spare copies to get finishes:
✕Upgrade: three copies of a card with the same finish (or no finish) become one copy with a rarer finish.
□Reroll: roll a plain card's finish again. It may stay plain.
Only copies in your trunk are used, never the cards in your deck. △ shows only the cards ready to upgrade.
Both are first versions: costs and rewards may change.
0.4.3
A fix for the final duels of the campaign.
Fixed
Campaign: losing a duel in the final run of the campaign no longer leaves the story stuck with no way to retry. Between two card shops the game still saves the cards and starchips you win, but the story progress is kept as it was at the last card shop, and the campaign continues from there.
Saves that are already stuck are fixed when you load them: the run starts again the next time you go to the Dueling Grounds.
0.4.2
A new PACKS screen, with the same layout as the MARKET.
Changed
PACKS screen
PACKS now looks like the MARKET: the pack's card on the left, and on the right a table of the shop's packs with a small picture, name, how many of its cards you have found, price and availability. Under the table is everything about the selected pack: description, cards and price, how many of each rarity you have found, the chance of each rarity, how many packs are left until the pity, or what unlocks it.
Card packs and Gold packs are tabs at the top. △ (or ←→) switches the selected pack between its normal and Gold version.
□Cards lists the pack's cards by rarity, rarest first. Cards you own show their name, picture and number of copies, and the big card shows the selected one. The others stay hidden.
Buying asks for confirmation and shows your starchips before and after, or why you cannot buy the pack.
Opening a pack: each card is added to the table as it is revealed, with its rarity, finish and NEW. △ shows the card's description. At the end you see how many cards are new.
Mouse: click a pack to select it, and click it again to buy it. Tabs, buttons and cards can be clicked; the wheel scrolls the list.
Fixed
Opening the MARKET or PACKS no longer shows the Password screen for a moment first.
Build Deck: the shine on a finished card's name now covers the full height of its row.
0.4.1
The results screen shows the correct starchips again.
Fixed
Remastered v2: after an online win, RESULTS OF DUEL could show a card converted to starchips with a huge number, like +4294967295, or not show its starchips. Only the display was wrong: you always received the correct starchips. It now shows the correct amount.
0.4.0
The MARKET: sell cards from your trunk for starchips, and buy cards other players list.
Added
MARKET
Remastered v2 has a market shared by everyone on the server. Select MARKET in the main menu, under PACKS. The layout is like Build Deck: on the left the card with its finish and its details (rarity, type, ATK and DEF, price, seller, time left and recent sale prices); on the right a table of cards with a small picture, name, rarity, finish, price and time left (and the seller, if the window is wide enough).
Buy: lists every card other players have for sale. You need the starchips and space in your trunk. Buying shows your starchips before and after, and the card is yours immediately.
Sell: pick a card from your trunk, with the finish your copy has. You see how many copies you own, the lowest price for the same card and finish, and its last sale price. Set a price from 1 to 999,999 starchips, digit by digit or by typing. A listing lasts 24 hours, and the card leaves your trunk while it is listed. You can have up to 10 cards listed at once.
My sales: your own listings. Cancel one and the card returns to your trunk.
Fee: 5% of each sale is removed from the game; the seller gets the rest.
Payment: starchips from a sale, and cards nobody bought in 24 hours, are delivered the next time you open the MARKET.
Search and filters:SELECT searches by part of a name, a type, an attribute or a level (pick letters, or type on the keyboard; Enter finishes). △ filters by finish or rarity. □ changes the sort order: newest, cheapest, most expensive, ending soon, rarest or by name (in Sell: by number, name, rarity, finish or copies).
Mouse: click a card to select it, and click again to buy, sell or cancel. Views, filters, letters, digits and buttons can be clicked; the wheel scrolls the list, or changes the filter or digit under it.
Controls:←→ switch between Buy, My sales and Sell. ✕ buys, sells or cancels, after confirmation. ○ exits. START refreshes the listings, which also refresh every minute.
0.3.3
No cheats in online play.
Changed
Remastered v2: when playing online, the Cheats menu is disabled and the Debug menu is removed (with its keys F3, P and .), so all cards and starchips are earned by playing. Classic keeps them.
0.3.2
The campaign's card shop is now a checkpoint.
Changed
Card shop (Remastered v2): the SAVE option is removed. The shop is now a checkpoint: as soon as you select anything there, your campaign progress is saved, so Return to Title or closing the page no longer loses it.
0.3.1
Screenshots are now downloaded to your computer.
Fixed
Screenshots:F12 and File › Screenshot now download the image to your computer as a PNG. Before, it was stored with your saves, where you could not see it, and many of them could stop your account from storing new saves.
0.3.0
Remastered v2 is now played online: your progress saves automatically to your account.
Added
Autosave
Remastered v2 now works like an online game. Everything you do is saved to your account immediately, and cannot be undone by reloading.
Sign in to play Remastered v2. The start page asks you to sign in before the game starts. Classic is unchanged.
No more SAVE. It is removed from the main menu. Wins with their cards and starchips, opened packs, your deck in Build Deck and your Free Duel record are saved as soon as they happen, so reloading the page does not change them.
NEW GAME creates a new save in the first empty slot; your other saves are not touched. Your account can hold up to 10 saves. LOAD picks which one to play, and that save then saves automatically.
Deleting a save: in LOAD, press △ on a save, then choose Delete. It asks for confirmation, and you cannot delete the save you are playing. A deleted save cannot be recovered. When all 10 slots are used, NEW GAME tells you to load or delete one.
Changed
Free Duel: leaving a duel before it ends (by closing or reloading the page) counts as a loss, as it would against another player online.
The campaign still continues from the game's own save points, as on the console.
0.2.0
More of the game's cards can be collected.
Changed
Cards: every monster except ritual monsters can now be obtained somewhere in the game. Some cards that could only be made by fusion before can now also be won or pulled. Where each one comes from is for you to discover.
0.1.1
A fix for account saves.
Fixed
Account saves: after many saves, the server stopped storing new ones. The game said the save worked, but reloading brought back an older save. Each save now cleans up the previous ones, so this cannot happen again.
If a save cannot be stored on the server, a red bar at the bottom of the screen now tells you. Before, it was a small grey line that was easy to miss.
Playing on an account? Reload the page (or press Update now) before your next save.
0.1.0
The first numbered version: from now on every change is listed on this page. It adds card search to Build Deck and a main menu closer to the original game.
Added
Search in Build Deck
In Build Deck's Chest list you can now search cards by name, or part of a name.
Press Left (←) in the Chest list. A search box opens with your text, the number of results, and a grid of letters and digits.
The list filters as you type and keeps the sort ORDER you picked. The box sits low, so the first results stay visible above it.
After you close the box, a line under the list shows your search and the number of results. Press ← to open it again and change it.
To see the whole list again, open the search, clear the text (□ on a controller, Backspace on a keyboard) and close it. The search is empty every time you enter Build Deck.

What you can search for
Part of a name
blue eyesfinds Blue-eyes · drafinds the Dragons, not Armored Rat
With several words, all of them must match: light dragon shows Light Dragons, and dark magician only cards with both words.
Good to know
It only finds cards you own, in the Chest or in your deck, as the list shows them. Cards you do not own stay hidden.
Type, card type, attribute and guardian star words are in English, whatever the game's language.
The search only works on the Chest list, not on the deck.
While the box is open, keyboard letters type. The X key types "x" instead of pressing ✕. On a controller, ✕ types the letter selected on the grid.
Changed
Main menu: ONLINE now uses the menu's own font, like the other options, and sits right above SAVE, which stays last.
Build Deck: the sort by rarity (the gem) moved to the second-to-last position in the ORDER bar, right after the sort by type.
Start page: it now shows the game's version, with a link to these patch notes. When a new version is out, the update bar shows its number and links to what changed.
